Herbalife Expands Medical Advisory Board with Appointees in Turkey and Russia.

LOS ANGELES -- Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) announces the appointment of two new members to its Medical Advisory Board (MAB), Ali Kocailik M.D. in Turkey and Alla Pogozheva M.D. in Russia. The appointments reflect the company's commitment to establishing a global board with qualified representatives in key markets around the world.

Herbalife's MAB is chaired by David Heber, M.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The MAB guides product research and development, ensuring the quality, benefits and safety of products. Members educate distributors on product usage and give health-news updates through multiple company channels and live training events around the world. The MAB also provides an educational resource for doctors and healthcare professionals.

Kocailik, who is based in Trakya, Turkey, specializes in cardiovascular surgery and is currently associate professor of the medical facility at Trakya University, Edirne. He has published extensively on the subject and is an active member of the Cardiovascular Surgery Association of Turkey, serving as general secretary of the National Cardio Vascular Congress in 1988 and assistant associate producer in 1991. Kocailik gradated from Ankara University and started his career at the Gulhane Military Medicine Academy. He went on to head up the medical department of the Kuleli Military School Infirmary before specializing in cardiovascular surgery, which he has since practiced and taught in a number of Istanbul's leading medical establishments. He is currently part of the MBA program at Yeditepe University Hospital

Pogozheva has practiced at the nutrition clinic at the Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Science and Research since 1977 and specializes in the fields of obesity and cardiovascular health. She currently heads up the food product test center at the Scientific Research Nutrition Institute which specializes in evaluating the effectiveness and results of tests on a range of specialized and dietary products, both medical and preventive. Pogozheva graduated from the Moscow Medical Institute and is the author of over 250 papers on therapy and diet published both in Russia and abroad.
