) announced the appointment of Robert Engelbrecht as vice president of human resources The fancy word for "people." Prior to joining Herbalife, Engelbrecht spent seven years with Sara Lee International, latterly as vice president of human resources for the direct selling division where he implemented and was responsible for instituting best practices and improved capability programs across EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific. During his last year he led the departmental efforts for the company's ultimate divestment to Tupperware and the successful transfer of all 6,500 employees.

Previously Engelbrecht was vice president of human resources for coffee specialists Douwe Egberts, DE Coffee Systems and Jacqmotte Coffee House in Belgium, a group of businesses with a combined turnover of approximately EUR EUR

Ikeda, who will oversee human resources for Japan and Korea, is based in the company's Tokyo office. He has two decades of experience in human resources, with expertise in melding corporate cultures, personnel matters, and instituting best practice policies.

He served most recently as general manager of human resources for Warner Music Japan Inc., where he led efforts on the company's revitalization project, as well as the implementation of employee training programs. Previously, he served as director, human resources, at Opnext Japan, Inc., which manufactures and sells fiber optic devices for the telecommunications industry. Ikeda also held human resource positions at Lucent Technologies Japan, Ltd; served as HR director of Hilti Japan Ltd, PepsiCo Food Service Japan, Inc., and at Wilson Japan, Inc., a sporting goods company. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Meiji University, Tokyo.
