Hepatitis outbreak in 90 villages of Hazro.HAZRO, 19 March , 2009 (Frontier Star) -- People living in Hazro and its adjacent 90 villages are suffering from Hepatitis due to unavailability of clean drinking water drinking watersupply of water available to animals for drinking supplied via nipples, in troughs, dams, ponds and larger natural water sources; an insufficient supply leads to dehydration; it can be the source of infection, e.g. leptospirosis, salmonellosis, or of poisoning, e.g. and medical facilities. Generally, a tehsil consists of a city or town that serves as its headquarters and its adjacent 90 villages also lack medical facilities, compelling them to travel to Attock and Rawalpindi for medical treatment. They demanded high level authorities to take notice of the issue, besides sending medical team there for treatment of people diagnosed with hepatitis.
