The independent researchers, supported by the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (a U.S. government entity), identify five medications potentially capable of preventing infections caused by viral bioweapons and other diseases, two of which are Alferon LDO and Ampligen(R). During his presentation, Dr. Carter will focus on Hemispherx Biopharma's global clinical and animal studies that are being conducted with experimental immunostimulants Ampligen(R) and Alferon LDO for potential treatment against avian influenza. The studies, conducted in Hong Kong, Japan, Canada and the United States, utilize Alferon LDO as a stand-alone antiviral and Ampligen co-administered with vaccines and antivirals.
