You can help your clients feel good about their taxes not just by getting them a big return, but also by encouraging them to give back to the community via the California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  Tax Check-Off Program.

The program gives clients the opportunity to make voluntary contributions on state income tax form 540A to any of 14 designated nonprofit organizations Nonprofit Organization

An association that is given tax-free status. Donations to a non-profit organization are often tax deductible as well.

Notes:
Examples of non-profit organizations are charities, hospitals and schools.
. The choices reflect the interests and passions of California taxpayers-from breast cancer research to environmental causes.

"Nearly 20,000 women in California alone have been diagnosed with or have had breast cancer, and more than 4,000 California women die each year from the disease," notes Dr. Marion Marion.
