Help Save U.S.-Based National Iranian TV!; Pro-Democracy and Anti-Terrorist, U.S.-Based National Iranian Television Begs Expatriates and U.S. Citizens for Financial Help to Continue Broadcasting.
WHO: National Iranian Television (NITV), a Woodland Hills-based
independent 24-hour Persian TV station, the first to
broadcast uncensored news to Iran on U.S. soil, is in danger
of being shut down.
WHAT: After subsidizing NITV out of their own pockets for over
five years, Zia Atabay, famed Iranian rock star and featured
guest on such shows as "60 Minutes," "Crossfire," and CNN,
plus his wife, Parvin, will have to close in less than two
months due to lack of funds.
WHEN: Threatened on a daily basis by those locally and in the
Middle East who are not pro-democracy for Iran, NITV
programming includes round-the-clock analysis of
U.S./Iranian talks on nuclear weapons plus other pertinent
issues affecting expatriates in the U.S. and around the
world.
HOW: We are appealing to local U.S. news organizations to help
make NITV's plight known to those in the community. Anything
you can do to help is much appreciated.
