Helen Hoart named to foundation's Hall of Fame.Helen Hoart, president of StayWell Consumer Health Publishing, was inducted into the Specialized Information Publishers Foundation's Hall of Fame. In presenting the award at the recent SIPA conference in Washington, SIPF president Patti Wysocki noted that the selection is based on a person's time, effort and money contributed to the foundation. She praised Helen for devoting all three over many years. There's little that Helen hasn't accomplished in both the association and the industry. She has served as president of both SIPA and SIPF and has held every officer position in both organizations. She has served 11 years on the foundation board and was named to the SIPA Hall of Fame in 2007. 32-year publishing veteran Helen came to Washington in the early 1970s to cover the White House and Congress. In 1976, she joined Capitol Publications, and she remained there after Pearson plc acquired the company. She was publisher of a group that acquired Encoders and guided its international expansion--doubling the circulation of its flagship newsletter, Communications Briefings. She subsequently ran the R.L. Polk & Co.'s newsletter division, directing marketing and business functions for its consumer publications. She is now president of StayWell Consumer Health Publishing, which markets Harvard Medical School's six health newsletters. StayWell, One Atlantic St. #304, Stamford.
