Hearth to hearth.Natchez preservationists will be "Keeping the Home Fires Burning" in September at a unique conference that will focus on the history and restoration of the Southern hearth hearth symbol of home life. When considering the United States Department of Interior's interpretation: "Preservation calls for the existing form, conference, sponsored by the local Pilgrimage pilgrimage Journey to a shrine or other sacred place undertaken to gain divine aid, as an act of thanksgiving or penance, or to demonstrate devotion. Medieval Christian pilgrims stayed at hospices set up specifically for pilgrims, and on their return trip they wore on their Garden Club and Pilgrimage Historical Association, will feature scholarly lectures, workshops, demonstrations, and field trips throughout the September 16-18 weekend.
