Artists are banding together to show their support for a fellow creative mind.

More than 100 works have been pledged for "An Affair of the Heart" to benefit Tippo resident Lyn Raney Hardy's quest for a triple organ donation. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. September 26 at the 3 Way Restaurant in Charleston.

Lyn taught art in Jackson and Brandon for four years but was forced to stop teaching because of a congenital heart and lung defect that has caused kidney disease. She now awaits a donor for these three organs. In March, family and friends organized a group called "Team Lynyrd" and have put on several fund-raisers, but this event will be the pinnacle of their efforts.

Wyatt Waters headlines the list of contributing artists for the live and silent auctions. Morgan Freeman, a Charleston resident, will donate film memorabilia, while his wife, costume and set designer Myrna Colley Lee, will contribute some of her own work.
