Healthlink Incorporated Appoints Joseph E. Boyd to Board of Directors.

HOUSTON -- Healthlink Incorporated, a Houston-based, privately held provider-focused healthcare information systems consulting firm, has appointed Joseph E. Boyd to its board of directors.

"Joe has had the experience of building an organization from Healthlink's current size to over half a billion dollars," said Ivo Nelson, president and CEO of Healthlink. His knowledge of the healthcare services industry will complement our other board members extremely well."

Boyd is the owner and principal of Boyd Consulting, which provides short- term, high-impact management consulting. His consulting services include strategic planning, outsourcing consulting, operational assessment reviews, and sales and marketing organization consulting. Boyd's pedigree includes 20 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility in information technology for private and public sector companies in numerous industries, including healthcare.

Prior to forming his own company in 2001, Boyd was an executive vice president at Perot Systems Corporation in Dallas. In this position, he had full responsibility for North American sales and operations, which included overseeing industry verticals focused in healthcare, finance, manufacturing, telecommunications, energy, travel and information technology. During his three and one half year tenure, revenues of this profitable business unit grew at a compounded annual growth rate of more than 25 percent, to comprise over $600 million in revenue, with 4,000 personnel.

From 1994 to 1997, Boyd was vice president/general manager of the Healthcare Group for Perot Systems. He began with the company in 1990, first in a consulting role in the healthcare practice, then as an account executive for Perot's largest healthcare client.

Boyd's other career highlights include positions as senior consultant for KPMG Peat Marwick, and project manager for GTE Information Service Corporation of Tampa, Fla. He began his career with Electronic Data Systems Corporation (Dallas) in 1983 and held various roles such as systems analyst and contract administrator for the company's growing healthcare and health insurance group.

Boyd holds an MBA in Finance and a BA in History, both from Mississippi State University.
