: LU) today announced that Ben J.M. Verwaayen, vice chairman of Lucent, has been elected a director of HealthCenter Internet Services, Inc., a new venture formed by Lucent in June 2000.

HealthCenter Internet Services helps health care providers and medical organizations leverage the power of the Internet to improve the quality and delivery of health-related services. It is a premier application service provider of application hosting, communications, patient management and clinical services for physicians and consumers.

HealthCenter applications are distributed using a secure, high-bandwidth, global healthcare network that includes high-security data and Web hosting Making a Web site available on the Internet.
