Health festival aiming to boost our wellbeing.A FESTIVAL to promote mental health is being staged across Kirklees.The Festival of Wellbeing is organised by South West Yorkshire West Yorkshire, former metropolitan county, N central England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county largely embraced the Leeds conurbation and comprised five metropolitan districts: Calderdale, Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield, and Kirklees. Partnership NHS Foundation Trust NHS Foundation Trusts (often referred to as "foundation hospitals") are hospitals which are part of the National Health Service in England. Function They have a significant amount of managerial and financial freedom when compared to existing NHS Trust. . The festival is designed to mark World Mental Health Day, on Saturday, celebrated throughout the world to tackle the stigma surrounding mental illness. As one in four of us will experience a mental health problem, the Trust's message is that there are things we can all do to help our mental wellbeing. To promote this, the Trust is staging over 140 events and activities across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield. Participants can get moving by taking in sports, walks and dances, get creative at arts and music events and get involved with various groups. The Wellbeing Festival runs until October 16.
