Health care center to get Anheuser-Busch support

The Clinica Msr. Oscar Romero recently received a grant from Anheuser-Busch Cos., Inc. in conjunction with its local distributor, Ace Beverage Co., announced Roy Jasso, corporate relations field manager for the company.

The grant will be used to support the clinic's medical and dental services.

Founded in 1983, Clinica Romero is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free quality health care and health education to Central American refugees in Los Angeles. The clinic provides screening, diagnostic and treatment services for pediatric, adult medical, gynecological, dental and nutritional health problems for refugees with severe need for health care services.

"On behalf of the entire Anheuser-Busch family, it is with great pleasure that we once again support the staff and volunteers of the Clinica Msr. Oscar Romero," Jasso said. "Because of their unrelenting dedication to the community, patients who never before received basic health care are now able and encouraged to do so."

The community currently served by Clinica Romero includes approximately 500,000 refugees. Most of the patients of the clinic are children who do not have up-to-date immunizations and suffer from intestinal parasites, malnutrition and infections. Many of the children also suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress disorders brought on by the war horrors in their homeland.
