Health Systems Technologies Announces Latest Version of Internet Product is Extranet Enabled.
Trillium MCS(TM) Internet Access 2.0 Ensures Security and Privacy
of Data Transmissions Across Intranet/Extranet Environments
Health Systems Technologies, Inc., developer of the Trillium Managed Care System(TM) (MCS), today announced the release of Trillium MCS(TM) Internet Access 2.0. This latest version of Internet Access is extranet-enabled, securing access to, and transmission of information across, networked enterprises.
Unlike an intranet that only defines which users can access a network, an extranet provides enhanced security capabilities, enabling protected communications over the Internet among authorized users with secured name and password identification.
"As a growing number of managed care organizations begin using the Internet and intranets to support the care delivery process, their primary concern will be to ensure the security and privacy of confidential member data," said Tom Borger, president and chief executive officer of Health Systems Technologies, Inc. "We are pleased to introduce a technologically advanced system that makes it possible to secure the transmission of critical data across the managed care network."
Trillium MCS Internet Access 2.0 allows healthcare providers and managed care organizations real-time access to comprehensive patient data and health plan coverage information via the Internet and intranets. The application is extranet-compliant, built with flexible architecture that can function over virtually any intranet structure. Trillium MCS Internet Access enables organizations to implement an extranet across intranet connections already in place.
"Organizations can use Trillium MCS Internet Access to launch an extranet over their existing network," said Bill Bysinger, chief technology officer of Health Systems Technologies, Inc. "Unlike other Internet products in healthcare, the latest release of Trillium MCS provides connection to real-time data rather than static data from an extract database. Together, these features make Trillium MCS Internet Access an efficient and cost-effective means of exchanging information and conducting business over a secure network environment."
Based in Seattle, Health Systems Technologies, Inc., develops the Trillium Managed Care System, an enterprise managed care system for healthcare organizations assuming financial risk. The system is provider-oriented, offering administrative and financial functionality to manage benefits, referrals, eligibility, capitation and claims. The advanced technology capabilities enable providers and payers to access and share data about members, plans and benefits throughout the organization. Trillium MCS runs on the Windows(R) NT platform and is Microsoft BackOffice Logo(TM) certified. -0- www.hst.com
