"Our service members could not do what they do without the support of their families," said HNFS president Steven Tough. "Through sponsoring events like the Army Ten-Miler, we help active-duty, reserve and retired military families lead healthier lives."

HNFS is honored to have designed and provided the running gear for the Gold Star Wives The Gold Star Wives of America was formed before the end of World War II to provide support for the spouses and children of those who lost their lives while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.  running teams. The Gold Star Wives is a non-profit membership organization comprised of military widows and widowers who have lost a spouse on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, or from a service-related disability.

The Army Ten-Miler is fun for the entire family. As the ATM's Youth Run and Activity Zone sponsor, HNFS encourages younger family members to have fun and participate in physical fitness activities. Children ages 5 through 12 can participate in the Health Net Federal Services Youth Run, and kids of all ages are welcome at the Activity Zone.

Runners and spectators may visit the Health Net Federal Services Expo booth and enter its hourly raffle to win one of 15 iPods on Friday, October 6, and Saturday, October 7, 2006.

This year's race will bring 24,000 runners from around the country to compete in one of the most popular 10-mile races in the country. Participants will run around the Capitol Mall past the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capitol and other landmarks and cross the finish line at the Pentagon. HNFS is proud to participate by sponsoring two Health Net running teams: a competitive team and a non-competitive team with some runners doing their first 10-mile race.
