Leading-Edge Clinical Solution Being Installed

Across Health First's Hospitals

As an integral part of the commitment to enhance patient safety, Health First, Inc., a Melbourne-based not-for-profit regional community healthcare system, is implementing Eclipsys(R) Corporation's (Nasdaq:ECLP) Sunrise(TM) Clinical Manager advanced clinical information system.

"Like other leading healthcare organizations, Health First is always carefully examining its process of providing care, and searching for innovative yet proven methods for enhancing how we serve our communities," said Rich Rogers, Health First vice president and chief information officer. "Increasingly, studies from such prestigious organizations at the Institute of Medicine have shown that expanded use of knowledge-driven information systems can have a dramatic impact on improving the care-delivery process -- reducing avoidable errors, improving overall care delivery and its resultant cost and patient satisfaction. Health First is committed to being on the vanguard of implementing these new methods to ensure that we are always providing the highest-quality, most-effective care possible."

Health First is adding Sunrise Clinical Manager as part of the foundation of its existing information network, which already includes the advanced clinical-documentation capabilities of Delray Beach-based Eclipsys' Sunrise Critical Care application. Sunrise Critical Care is in use in the Intensive Care Units of Health First's three hospitals -- Cape Canaveral Cape Canaveral (kənăv`ərəl), low, sandy promontory extending E into the Atlantic Ocean from a barrier island, E Fla., separated from Merritt Island by the Banana River, a lagoon; named (1963) Cape Kennedy in memory of President John  Hospital, Cocoa Cocoa, city, United States

Also already in use is Eclipsys' Sunrise Enterprise Person Identifier(TM), a system that simplifies information. Eclipsys' Web-based eWebIT(TM) systems-integration solutions will be used in conjunction with the Clinical Manager project to further integrate Health First's various information systems.

"This system's clinical-alerting capabilities, coupled with its order-entry, results reporting and clinical data repository A Clinical Data Repository (CDR) is a real-time database that consolidates data from a variety of clinical sources to present a unified view of a single patient. It is optimized to allow clinicians to retrieve data for a single patient rather than to identify a population of  capabilities, will provide our physicians, nurses and other members of the Health First team with an unparalleled scope of essential information," said James V James V, king of Scotland
James V, 1512–42, king of Scotland (1513–42), son and successor of James IV. His mother, Margaret Tudor, held the regency until her marriage in 1514 to Archibald Douglas, 6th earl of Angus, when she lost it to John
. Palermo, MD, chairman of the Health First Board of Directors' Quality Committee. "We are extremely excited to bring these advanced capabilities to the citizens of the Brevard County area."

The Clinical Manager project already has begun and will be implemented in a phased approach throughout Health First's facilities. "Our first step will be to implement the system's physician-view capabilities, providing our doctors with access to comprehensive information not only within the `four walls' of the hospitals but remotely from their offices or homes," Rogers said. Subsequent steps will bring online the system's Knowledge-Based Orders capabilities.

"We are fully committed (Law) committed to prison for trial, in distinction from being detained for examination.

"It's a vital part of our commitment to serve our population, and we're taking it extremely seriously."
