Most people made donations of $20 or $25, "but one person wrote out a check for $100 and another left a $50 bill and told us to keep the change," Renee said.

Cynthia Lafferty, the relief team's Eugene representative, said support has been particularly strong in Lane County. "This community has really come together to support relief work for all of the tsunami disaster victims," she said.

Licensed massage therapist Peter Lesueur, who provided a chair massage to Adams, said he was pleased to participate in the fund-raiser. "It feels good for us to come together in the global community and assist in any way we can," he said.
