Headbone partners with premier German toy manufacturer, Ravensburger A.G.


SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 1995--Headbone Interactive, a multimedia publisher from Seattle, announced today they are teaming up with one of Europe's oldest and most prestigious toy makers -- Ravensburger A.G. -- in an agreement to republish and distribute Headbone's library of CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

Under the terms of the deal, Ravensburger will have exclusive distribution and localization Customizing software and documentation for a particular country. It includes the translation of menus and messages into the native spoken language as well as changes in the user interface to accommodate different alphabets and culture. Beginning this month, the first four Headbone titles will be translated into German, and released in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg. The titles will be demonstrated at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October.

Founded in 1883, Ravensburger has been a premier supplier of children's games around the world. Recently they have launched major efforts to enter into television broadcasting and interactive media.

In addition to the interactive media arrangement, the two companies are also talking separately about TV programming, toy manufacturing and character merchandising. These activities will leverage Headbone's strong line of characters with Ravensburger's existing businesses.

Headbone's first product, AlphaBonk Farm, featuring the GiggleBone Gang, was released in late-1994 to the acclaim of both kids and parents.
