Hayden buys Cottage Grove lots.

COTTAGE GROVE Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery).  -- An 80-unit proposed subdivision formerly known as Madonna Madonna (Madonna Louise Ciccone) (mədŏn`ə, chĭkō`nē), 1958–, American pop singer and actress, b. Bay City, Mich. She trained as a dancer at the Univ.  Properties has a new name, a new owner and a new date for consideration by the Cottage Grove City Council.

The 21-acre, wedge-shaped piece of property lies south of Harrison Harrison, town (1990 pop. 13,425), Hudson co., NE N.J., an industrial suburb on the Passaic River opposite Newark; inc. 1869. The town has several foundries. Its manufactures include plastics, paperboard, and metal products.  Avenue between the Coast Fork Willamette River The Coast Fork Willamette River is one of several forks that unite to form the Willamette River in western Oregon in the United States. It is approximately 55 mi (89 km) long, draining an area of the mountains at the south end of the Willamette Valley south of Eugene.  on the west and Highway 99 on the east.

, who owned the tract under the name Madonna Properties, said he sold it in July to Hayden Enterprises, headquartered in Redmond.

Woodard said he planned to develop the property himself but decided he wanted to sell off part of it. So, he approached Hayden, which has been active in the Lane County home-building market for several years.

"They were interested, and then they said they wanted to buy the whole thing," Woodard said. "I hadn't planned to do that, but they offered a fair price, so I sold it to them - I guess they wanted it worse than I wanted to keep it."

Woodard declined to disclose the sale price of the property; Hayden Enterprises' land use manager is out of the country and not available for comment.

, city planner Amanda Ferguson said.

However, the commission has required Hayden Enterprises to restore two alleys shown in Woodard's original plans so that access to the residences will be from the rear of the houses, similar to other subdivisions in the immediate area, Ferguson said.

Land use plans for the property call for medium-density residential development, so the commission also stipulated that Hayden Enterprises develop one block of the subdivision as townhomes, to achieve the overall density requirement.

"The original plans called for about 73 units of single-family homes, and now it will be about 80 units," she said.

The City Council now must give its approval to the RiverWalk proposal for ordinance A law, statute, or regulation enacted by a Municipal Corporation.

Of the 21 acres, 17 will be developed for residential use.

The remaining four acres, along Highway 99, will be developed for commercial use, Ferguson said.

The single-family residential lots will range from 5,000 square feet to 11,000 square feet, "but most are under 6,000 square feet," she said.

The RiverWalk proposal is one of the largest subdivisions built in Cottage Grove, Ferguson said.

"Most of our subdivisions are in the 30-lot range, so this one is definitely bigger than most," she said.

The city's largest subdivision - called Sunrise Sunrise, city (1990 pop. 64,407), Broward co., SE Fla., a residential suburb 8 mi (13 km) W of Fort Lauderdale; inc. 1961 as Sunrise Golf Village. It is a major office and commercial center and the site of Sawgrass Mills, one of the largest malls in the United States.  - has 250 lots, and construction is continuing in phases.
