This collection of 17 science fiction stories, edited with the YA reader in mind, is worthy of recognition. A number have won national awards. Many are guaranteed to capture the interest of readers who will find themselves engaging in discussions about moral implications: what would an advanced species of aliens say about us if they could, considering the fact that we are indeed "made out of meat"? (Bisson 1).

Who offers you mental support in dangerous times? What would you risk for a friend if it might cost you your health or your life? Would you be willing to make an alliance with the enemy if they might help you achieve your goal? What would the world be like if kids could divorce their parents?
