Hawpe lifts Rockies over Giants in 9thBrad Hawpe singled in the game-winning run with one out in the ninth inning to lift Colorado to a 6-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night, the Rockies' third straight win. With their fifth victory in six games, the Rockies improved to a season-high six games over .500. Colorado began the day four games behind Arizona in the wild-card race and five games behind San Diego in the NL West. Todd Helton and Garrett Atkins drew one-out walks from Brad Hennessey (2-4). With Jamey Carroll running for Helton, Hawpe drove a 2-2 fastball into the gap in right field to score Carroll. Manny Corpas (4-2) worked a perfect ninth for the Rockies. Helton was 3-for-3 with two walks and an RBI double and Troy Tulowitzki hit a solo homer, his 19th, for Colorado. Randy Winn went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, including his second home run in two games. Omar Vizquel and Rich Aurilia each drove in a run for the Giants, who lost their fourth straight. Giants starter Tim Lincecum lasted one batter into the fourth inning, giving way to Scott Atchinson after Kaz Matsui's leadoff single. Lincecum allowed three runs and seven hits in three innings, with two walks and five strikeouts. It was the rookie's shortest outing. Reliver Brian Wilson and Giants manager Bruce Bochy were ejected in the eighth inning after Wilson hit Yorvit Torrealba with a pitch. Hennessey replaced Wilson and allowed Kaz Matsui's RBI single that tied the game at 5. Rockies manager Clint Hurdle didn't show any patience with young starter Franklin Morales, pinch-hitting for him in the bottom of the third inning. Morales was roughed up for five runs and five hits. Barry Bonds, who sat out Monday's game, was 1-for-4, doubling on an 0-2 pitch to center field to start the second inning. One out later, Bonds scored on Aurilia's deep line out to center to give the Giants a 1-0 lead. The Rockies tied it at 1 in their second on singles by Helton, Garrett Atkins and Hawpe. The Giants made it 5-1 in the third inning when Winn homered to left field on a 2-1 pitch with Raja Davis and Vizquel aboard. Vizquel had an RBI single in the inning. Colorado cut it to 5-3 in its third when Helton hit an RBI double and Lincecum hit Chris Iannetta with a pitch with the bases loaded. Tulowitzki's home run off Scott Atchison with one out in the fifth inning to make 5-4.
