Hats off to the West Central Division state competition chairs who have organized and administered the MTNA competitions.Hats off to the West Central Division state competition chairs who have organized and administered the MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) competitions. Appreciation is extended to the many members who monitored, provided hospitality and in other ways made the competitions possible. Twice a year, members of the West Central Division meet. One meeting occurs at the MTNA National Conference, and all division attendees of the National Conference in Seattle are urged to be a part of the information sharing. The other meeting occurs at the Summit for MTNA Leadership when the state presidents, presidents-elect or other state representatives confer and exchange ideas. The most recent gathering at the Summit in September resulted in a discussion of exciting developments in the states. Nebraska reported on cost sharing with other arts groups to bring to the state a world-class conference artist. South Dakota has a new state website (www.sdmta.org), and the idea of technology as an important avenue of information for new young teachers was reinforced.
