At CNB, Hastings will be responsible for maintaining credit policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental  and maintaining quality standards for the bank's $175 million loan portfolio.

Hastings brings 18 years of experience to his new position at CNB, most recently as senior vice president and credit administrator with University Bank and Trust in Palo Alto Palo Alto, city, California

Hastings has a master's degree in business from Southern Methodist University Southern Methodist University, at Dallas, Tex.; United Methodist; coeducational; chartered 1911. The school's facilities include laboratories for electron microscopy and stable isotopes, a museum of paleontology, and a graduate research center. . He is an instructor for the San Jose State University Institute for Financial Services Management, and is active in a number of local service groups and civic organizations such as the Rotary Club, Commonwealth Club, and San Jose Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. He and his family reside in San Jose.

Cupertino National Bank & Trust is the second largest locally owned bank headquartered in Silicon Valley, with more than $260 million in assets and offices in Palo Alto, San Jose, and Cupertino. The bank will open its fourth office in downtown Palo Alto in May.
