To accommodate time-starved game lovers who want to experience the excitement of games within their hectic schedules, Hasbro Games is launching new versions of three of their classic games, tossing in a new game-changing die to the world's most popular board game, and providing players with rules that expedite various games.

"20 Minute Game Breaks"

Recognizing that game fans often have small pockets of spare time throughout the day, Hasbro Games introduces new EXPRESS GAMES that capture the essence of classic games but in a much speedier format. The new EXPRESS GAMES versions of MONOPOLY, SORRY!, and SCRABBLE allow two to four players to enjoy a robust 20 minute game during their lunch hour, while waiting at the doctor's office, or even while waiting for water to boil on the stove.

The MONOPOLY version lets players push their luck by rolling multiple dice to acquire properties and hotels. The SCRABBLE version includes letter dice (instead of tiles) that are placed on a small game board that accommodates two words at a time. And the SORRY! version still provides plenty of opportunities to zing your opponents by stealing their pawns. EXPRESS GAMES, which are small and portable, will be available at mass retail stores in August 2007 for an approximate retail price of $12.99.

Pass "GO" at Light Speed

A new "speed die", which will be included in the flagship version of MONOPOLY games beginning this spring, allows players to go from rags to riches -- or vice versa -- faster than ever before!

For example, half of the faces on the special die provide a power boost to a player's roll of the game's two traditional dice, resulting in faster travel around the board. Roll a MR. MONOPOLY on the speed die and automatically move to the next unowned property space -- but if all properties are already owned, then MR. MONOPOLY sends you to the nearest property that will force you to pay rent! Beyond adding an extra level of fun, the speed die lets players get into and experience what they love about the game faster.

Play By Your Own Rules

For years, many of Hasbro's most popular board games have included a series of rule suggestions for shortened game play. For example, TRIVIAL PURSUIT players can opt to collect fewer wedges before moving to the hub for the final game-winning question, and MONOPOLY fans can be dealt three title deeds at the first of the game.

Now, Hasbro is launching a game where the official rules state that the game length is completely dependent upon how long the players would like to play. In the new THE GAME OF LIFE: Twists & Turns, players decide before the game begins how many "years" (or rounds) they'd like to play. This element also means the game-playing strategy will be completely different for each game played.
