PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 4, 2000

She cries and coos, instantly responds and reacts, smiles and squeals with delight. Featuring Natural Response Technology(TM), MY REAL BABY is the first interactive, animated doll that responds to a child's actions with realistic emotion-like responses. To date, she is the most real, dynamic baby doll available for young girls to take care of and nurture -- no other doll features more sophisticated, life-like technology.

&uot;MY REAL BABY is a breakthrough product in the girls category because it provides a truly unique and meaningful play experience,&uot; said Alan G. Hassenfeld, Hasbro's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. &uot;MY REAL BABY showcases Hasbro's commitment - and ability - to continually strengthen our standing as a family entertainment company that offers technologically advanced products.&uot;

 and Natural Response Technology, a process that iRobot has been developing over the past six years, MY REAL BABY reacts instantly to the attention of a child, showcases a full range of expressions and sounds, and appears to &uot;grow&uot; over time through speech development and a full menu of unpredictable reactions.

&uot;We've taken technology previously available only in animatronics that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and combined it with unique sensors and artificial intelligence to create a spectacularly cool toy,&uot; said Colin Angle Colin Angle is co-founder and chief executive officer of iRobot Corporation, maker of the Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner. Life-like reactions and expressions, and the ability to interact with the child is a key difference between MY REAL BABY and other dolls. &uot;Girls have played with dolls for generations. -- Her face changes from a smile to a frown and back again -- She giggles and laughs when you tickle her feet or bounce her on

your knee

-- She will tell you when she needs to be burped, changed or fed

-- She begins speaking simple baby words like &uot;mama&uot; and &uot;yum-yum&uot;

and advances to short sentences like &uot;I Love you, Mama&uot; and &uot;I

-- A child can rock her to sleep and, when she is ready to take a

nap, she will say &uot;night, night&uot;

In addition to responding to a child's actions, MY REAL BABY will seem to become more independent by initiating her own preferences, actions and behaviors. This element of unpredictability promises a dynamic, interactive play experience full of surprises. By interacting with MY REAL BABY, girls can emulate their mothers through role-playing, which in turn develops confidence and independence.

MY REAL BABY is the first product from Hasbro's exclusive alliance with iRobot. The two companies began working together in late 1998 to develop highly intelligent, interactive toys.

MY REAL BABY will include a birth certificate, rattle, pacifier, bottle and &uot;baby care&uot; manual. MY REAL BABY will be in stores in fall 2000 and will retail for approximately $95.99.

Why do you have no pictures of this doll or say that in the last review I read about it it makes sounds like a machine and you can tell it is not a real baby? MAKE IT MORE LIFE LIKE walking, eating, things like that! Don't make it look like a doll make it different skin tones, eye colors, hair colors!
