authorized and regulated firm, is initiating the HFC Japan Tactical Alpha Strategy (the "Strategy".) The Strategy has been initiated with a commitment of $2.5 million and a soft close target of $100 million.

The Strategy uses in-house technical analysis to identify inflection points (viz. a point from which a dynamic move should take place) in asset prices where volatility and price momentum are in position to contribute to positive performance to the Strategy. Both long and short positions are taken; investments are across a broad range of Japanese stocks that are liquid and across all Japanese exchanges.

The Strategy is agnostic to fundamentals and focuses purely on technical analysis and Elliot Wave theory. The initial focus will be on Japan; however, the Strategy is scalable across geographies (Europe, US and Middle East) and asset classes (gold, currencies and oil). HFC's long term plan is to move in that direction.

Sleem Hasan is a 24 year veteran of the Japanese equity markets, having previously run the equity and equity derivatives team at Nikko Europe for seven years. In 1996 he founded Hasan Financial Corporation - a non-discretionary advisor to institutions globally, focusing on Japan.

The Strategy will be advised by Paul Hutchings, who has been developing and testing technical trading systems for Japanese equities at HFC. Hasan and Hutchings have been working together since their years at Nikko Europe, where Hutchings was the proprietary trader In a financial institution, a proprietary trader ( also known as a securities trader ) is a trader who trades securities on the account of the institution he/she works for, not for client-based business.  running the hedge book.
