Harry S. Truman (May 8 1884 – December 26 1972) was the thirty-third President of the United States (1945–1953); as vice president, he succeeded to the office upon the death of Franklin D.

The program was originally designed to allow fathers to see their newborns for the first time, but because of its success, the ship's coordinators and the family support group decided to expand the program to other crew members. Within a matter of days, sailors and Marines filled all available slots. Organizing this program when half of the party is deployed wasn't easy, but overcoming the technical obstacles allowed sailors the opportunity to see their families face-to-face.
