Jane Smith, AIA, a leading architect and designer for corporations, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, developers and commercial property owners, introduced Spacesmith, LLP, the new name for Harris Smith Design

Deemed a "Giant of Design" by Interior Design Magazine and recognized by corporate and private clients nationally and internationally, the company remains one of the largest woman-owned architecture and design firms in the country with 25 employees and billings exceeding $2.8 million. Smith will remain as CEO and chief designer for the firm.

Spacesmith has also established Spacesmith Interiors, an in-house design studio, in an effort to address the ever-growing demand for innovative, stylish interiors for the worlds of hospitality, retail, and residential design.

The division will be headed up by partners Jane Smith and Maureen Cornwell and the internationally recognized interior designer, Valerie Pasquiou. Pasquiou, whose work has been featured in magazines like Dwell, Metropolitan Home and House and Garden, is famous for her residential and retail work in the U.S. and Europe on behalf of high-net-worth individuals and world-renowned actors and fashion designers. Pasquiou will serve as design partner for Spacesmith Interiors.

The firm, under the name of Harris Smith Design, has been recognized for its architecture and design work on behalf of clients such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Exxon Mobil Corporation, BBDO, The School of Visual Arts, Visa, Ericsson, New York University, DKNY, Hearst Corporation, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Hearst Publications, NYC Department of Design and Construction, NYS Office of General Services and numerous financial companies.

Spacesmith Architects is currently working on planning and design for Polo Ralph Lauren, BBDO, Brooklyn Navy Yard and International Rescue Committee. Spacesmith Interiors is currently developing designs for spas, residences and retailers.
