Harris Corporation Releases New STAT Analyzer Network Security Tool.

Harris Corporation, a leading provider of intelligent security software solutions today unveiled the newest version of its expanding Security Threat Avoidance Technology (STAT(R)) product family. STAT(R) Analyzer 2.0 further automates the network security life-cycle assessment process and applies evidential reasoning capabilities to provide analysis that previously required the skills of security experts. The announcement was made during the SANS Security New Orleans 2001 conference at the New Orleans Marriott in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Analyzer 2.0 uses a suite of integrated, best-of-breed vulnerability and risk assessment tools to map and analyze various aspects of a networked computing system. It then employs a unique risk fusion technology, called FuzzyFusion(TM), to develop a system-level assessment and multi-dimensional view of a network's security posture relative to its security policy or requirements. Analyzer provides users with the ability to easily model and evaluate proposed changes in order to select the appropriate risk mitigation actions.

Analyzer 2.0 integrates several security products into its framework such as STAT Scanner for testing NT(R) systems, ISS Scanner from Internet Security Systems (ISS) for testing both NT and UNIX systems. CyberCop Scanner, from PGP Security, can be integrated for testing NT and UNIX systems. Analyzer 2.0 also features enhancements to its FuzzyFusion(TM) correlation technology; expanded, customized reporting capabilities; the ability to create a Security Policy template that can be used in multiple analyses; and native network discovery and modeling via the embedded WhatsUp Gold(R) software from Ipswitch.
