Harris Corporation's STAT Security Software Now Supports Windows 2000 Platform.

Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading provider of security software solutions, announced today that its Security Test and Analysis Tool (STAT(TM)) has been updated to support the new Windows(R) 2000 platform. STAT is a comprehensive Windows NT network defense system capable of detecting more than 850 vulnerabilities.

According to Gould, Harris began preparing STAT to support the Windows 2000 platform last summer. This foresight, coupled with STAT's innovative, flexible design, made it possible to make the changes and release the update just six weeks after the formal release of the Windows 2000 product to the consumer. The Windows 2000 vulnerabilities update is provided to existing STAT customers at no charge at the STATonline web site.

"To demonstrate our commitment to the NT community, we also provide a free demonstration copy of STAT on our web site that will detect and correct 20 of the most common Windows NT vulnerabilities," said Gould. "The demonstration software has recently been updated to include a series of Windows 2000 vulnerabilities."

STAT also supports the new Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) standard and displays each vulnerability with its appropriate CVE name. The system allows network administrators to perform analysis of a single machine or an entire domain with a single mouse click. Originally developed by Harris' Government Communications Systems Division for government and defense customers, STAT was introduced to the commercial market in November 1998. The latest release, STAT 3.0, was made available in February 2000, and is augmented every month with a fully integrated update provided through the STATonline web site.
