About seven years ago, a father began to teach his then-six-year-old son to use guns because the father kept guns in the house, and he wanted "to take the curiosity away," reported the Greenville Greenville.

When the father, George Dickert, walked into his Greenville house after having had a cigarette outside on the evening of July 9, an armed man wearing a mask followed him into the house and demanded money. "I ain't playing," he told Dickert.

. As they retreated, the elder Dickert finally managed to grab a gun of his own, and he fired at them four times, missing them.

Police arrested four of the five robbers nearby. The robbers were still sweaty sweat·y
