Today, WOW Hall

For six months, the Web site eugenerockmusic.com has organized a series of all-local, all-ages rock shows at the WOW Hall. So why should Month 7 be any different?

Grynch will headline the seventh edition of the Reignition series at the WOW Hall tonight. The four-piece hard rock band has been known to include poetry and hip-hop in its Tool- and Korn-inspired songs.

Also on the bill are Paranos, originally from Roseburg, the power trio The power trio is a rock and roll band format popularized in the 1960s. The traditional power trio has a lineup of guitar, bass and drums, leaving out the rhythm guitar or keyboard often featured in other rock music.  the Death Of and the garage-thrash-metal band Chainsaw Sex Vikings.

Guest vocalist Lori Fletcher will team up with Sound and Fiori's Jon Fiori for a night of big band tunes today at Luna, 30 E. Broadway.

Here's your chance to catch a new band from the very beginning.

Chase, a rock quartet, will make its Eugene debut in a free show at 8 p.m. Sunday at Cozmic Pizza. The foursome features Cyle Talley on lead vocals and drums, Josiah Henley on lead guitar, Kit Day on rhythm guitar and Oskar Bucher on bass.

Adolescents

Monday, WOW Hall

Talk about a comeback.

The old-school SoCal punk band the Adolescents hasn't put out a record of new material since 1988's - yes, 1988's - "Balboa Fun Zone This article or section needs sources or references that appear in reliable, third-party publications. Confidential."

Now the band - featuring vocalist Tony Cadena, bassist Steve Soto, the father-and-son guitar duo of Frank Agnew and Frank Agnew Jr., and drummer Derek O'Brien - is on tour in support of the new record.

The five-piece outfit will play the WOW Hall on Monday night, along with fellow California punkers the Briggs and Angel City Outcasts Angel City Outcasts is a band that originated in Los Angeles, California in 2002. Their music consists of a style somewhere between punk rock and rock n' roll. The band consists of 5 members that all live in Los Angeles. .

Opening the show is D.E.K. (Don't Even Know), a quartet of teens from Aberdeen, Wash.

The Crooked Jades

Wednesday's show will begin at 9 p.m.

Michael Burks

Thursday, Cozmic Pizza

Michael Burks, the guitarist named Living Blues magazine's 2004 guitarist of the year, will drop in on the Rainy Day Blues Society on Thursday at Cozmic Pizza.

Burks, touring in support of his W.C. Handy Award-nomi- nated CD "I Smell Smoke," starting learning to play guitar as soon as he could hold one, when he was about 2. He had a standing gig at his family's juke joint in Arkansas up until the mid-'80s, when the place closed.

He released his first record, "From the Inside Out," in 1997. He signed with Alligator Records in 2001 and released "Make It Rain."

Local blues band Blue Moon Society will warm up the Cozmic crowd, as will the duo of Jerry Zybach & Blue. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Advance tickets are $8, available at Buy & Sell Center, CD World, House of Records, Guitar Center and the Museum of Unfine Art. At the door, admission will be $10; Rainy Day Blues Society members and those younger than 21 can get in for $5.

Honkytonk Homeslice

Thursday, WOW Hall

Honkytonk Homeslice, a project founded by Bill Nershi of the String Cheese Incident and Jillian Nershi, will serve up a slice of music Thursday at the WOW Hall.

The band, designed to give Bill Nershi a new musical direction that also showcases his wife's vocals, is built on hot guitar playing and vocal harmonies. Also on the bill is singer, guitarist and songwriter Tony Furtado and the Scott Law Band.

Tickets are $12 in advance, available at WOW Hall, CD World, CD & Game Exchange, House of Records, Taco Loco and the Erb Memorial Union ticket office. At the door, admission will be $14.

Showtime is 8:30 p.m.
