Byline: The Register-Guard

A "SING-THROUGH" VERSION of G.F. Handel's "Messiah" will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 3925 Hilyard St.

The audience will join soprano Misook Yun, alto Irene Weldon, tenor Peter Hollens, baritone Jack Davidson, trumpet player Dave Bender and the Resurrection Choir in performing the oratorio oratorio (ôrətôr`ēō), musical composition employing chorus, orchestra, and soloists and usually, but not necessarily, a setting of a sacred libretto without stage action or scenery. . It will be conducted by Betty Jean Bartholomew, the church's music director.

Singers may bring their own musical scores or purchase or borrow them at the church. Listeners are welcome as well. A flaming plum pudding will be served in the parish hall after the event.

The program is free, but a free-will offering will be taken. For more information, call 686-8462.
