Hail old-time radio as free, noon-hour concerts begin.Byline: The Register-Guard The Lone Ranger, jolly old St. Nick and the Purple People Eater are among the diverse figures expected to turn up at the annual series of free noon-hour concerts held in the Hult Center lobby on Thursdays throughout the performing arts season. The SHOcase Concert Series opens this Thursday. The weekly 30-minute programs, produced by the Support Hultcenter Operations organization, are free, open to the public and begin at 12:15 p.m. In addition to the performance, SHO's High School Performing Arts Student of the Month will be introduced at the first program of each month. The fall schedule: Thursday - Bob and Meredith Loudon evoke the golden days of radio in ``Old-Time Radio Revisited.'' Oct. 9 - Sharps and Flats, a senior choral group from the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, will sing old favorites. Oct. 16 - Singer/guitarist Frank Riha will recall rock 'n' roll rock 'n' roll: see rock music. hits from the 1950s and '60s.
