HTE Announces General Availability of JavaLine Products.

With the familiar, intuitive look and feel of a Web browser, HTE's JavaLine products are easier to learn and to use. Customers can look forward to reduced training time for staff, and can offer access to employees who may use the applications infrequently.

HTE announced plans to migrate its entire Total Enterprise Solution product family to the n-tier architecture JavaLine Series last spring. Entering general availability now are most of the financial and community service applications. All Public Safety and Justice products and the remaining financial and community service applications are in testing and are expected to be released in the third quarter.

JavaLine was developed using Jacada technology, which simplifies the process of changing existing software into the familiar Web browser interface. Jacada Innovator enabled HTE to accelerate its delivery of these solutions by using existing resources and skills and by leveraging the deep functionality provided in the company's industry leading applications.

The City of Sebring, FL, purchased the JavaLine versions of GMBA(R), HTE's comprehensive financial accounting package, and Customer Information System for utilities, and is training its staff on the new system.

"From the client end, installation was a breeze," said Troy Hays, senior systems operator for Winter Park, which expects to go live in July. "The browser interface makes everything so much simpler. It's not even comparable to earlier products."

The City of Kissimmee found its staff quickly adapted to the new JavaLine product. "Everyone who sees it says `this is what we want'," Information Technology Director Peggy Sousa said. She said even casual users are able to learn the program with little training.
