HP INCORPORATES INTEL PENTIUM III PROCESSOR IN PC\SERVER LINES.


Hewlett-Packard Company has incorporated the newest Intel Pentium III 800MHz processor into HP Pavilion desktop PCs, HP Vectra corporate PCs, HP Kayak PC Workstations and HP NetServer systems.

The latest configurations of the popular HP Pavilion desktop PC line are available on HP build-to-order retail kiosks and at the HP Shopping Village (www.hpshopping.com). The latest HP Vectra corporate desktop PCs, HP Kayak PC Workstations and HP NetServer systems will support the new Pentium III 800Mhz processor in a variety of configurations.

HP Vectra corporate desktop PCs, HP Kayak PC Workstations and HP NetServer systems will be optimized to run Microsoft Windows 2000 to deliver high-performance, increased reliability and secure manageability. The new PC models include the following configurations and prices:

-- The HP Pavilion 8500 series PC, with an Intel Pentium III 800Mhz processor, 128MB SDRAM, 13GB hard-disk drive, 40x max speed CD-ROM drive, V.90 56k modem, 16MB video card with the Nvidia Riva TNT2 chipset, sound card and speakers, running Windows 98 -- has an estimated U.S. street price of $1,995.

-- The HP Vectra VL600 corporate PC, powered by an Intel Pentium III 800Mhz processor, 128MB DRAM, 30GB Ultra ATA66 hard-disk drive, Advanced Graphics 4x Matrox Millennium G400 display adapter, CD-RW (rewriteable) drive, running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and optimized for Windows 2000, has an estimated U.S. street price of $2,599.

-- The HP Kayak XU800 PC Workstation, with an Intel Pentium III 800Mhz processor, dual-processing capabilities, 256MB RDRAM PC800, 9.1GB 10,000 rpm SCSI hard-disk drive, Digital Video Disk (DVD), HP LAN, 2/3-D Synergy II display adapter, running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and optimized for Windows 2000, has an estimated U.S. street price of $3,500.
