up the wrong tree. There's a lot they don't tell you.

I know. I recently adopted two 7-week-old golden retrievers golden retriever, breed of large sporting dog developed primarily in Scotland in the mid-19th cent. It stands about 23 in. (58.4 cm) high at the shoulder and weighs from 60 to 75 lb (27.2–34.1 kg). . I've done more bending down, more picking up than our 2-year-old required at that age.

Here are some items you should have on hand for a new puppy:

You'll need a vast supply of old towels. How such little dogs can make a whole sea, I'll never understand. Stock up on extra laundry detergent detergent (dētûr`jənt, dĭ–), substance that aids in the removal of dirt. Detergents act mainly on the oily films that trap dirt particles.  for those towels. Add at least a dozen rolls of paper towels for the solid messes.

Some of our wood floors have an extra layer of polyurethane polyurethane

Any of a class of very versatile polymers that are made into flexible and rigid foams, fibres, elastomers (elastic polymers), surface coatings, and adhesives.
. It prevents penetration of puppy problems and makes cleanup a lot easier.

You also should have plenty of cleaning agents before you bring home puppies. You'll need different cleaners for different types of flooring. Remember to keep cleaning agents away from the puppies.

If you plan to allow the puppies outside, carefully check the area in which they'll be allowed to roam. You may want to restrict puppy access to certain rooms. And study the area; when they're small, they're more capable of getting through barriers than you might suspect.
