HOT TIPS : WELL, EXCUUUUUUUSE ME!

A truly disgusting, stomach-turning nuclear belch belch

elite who know how to swallow air - until now.

Enter Rudy Begonia's Belcher soda, a 16-ounce soft drink ``specially formulated to cause rib-cracking burps,'' according to manufacturer Excuse Me, Inc. of Denver, Colo. Creators Brad Droy and Dennis Johanningmeier won't reveal their formula, but the sodas come with double the normal carbonation. Since belching belching

is how the body expels air from the stomach, more air equals more belch.

Belcher soda comes in four flavors: Loogie Lime, Obnoxious Orange, Gastro Grape and Cherry Bomb Cola. The taste? Average. The belches Belches may refer to:
  • Peter Belches, early explorer of Western Australia;
  • Point Belches, a geographic feature in the Swan River.
  • Belches, physical reactions to buildup of gas in the digestive tract.
? Extraordinary.

``I've had people write in and tell me it is absolutely the best for producing a belch,'' said Patrick Belcher, the aptly named Webmaster of www.belch.com.

Our Daily News tests subject found a normal sip produced mild urps almost immediately, while several large gulps took two minutes to produce a belch heard halfway across the newsroom.

``That was Phat phat

Excellent; first-rate: phat fashion; a phat rapper.

[Earlier, sexy (said of a woman),
,'' the test subject said, consulting a handy belch gauge on the can.

According to the chart, 4 ounces of Belcher soda produces a ``cooool'' belch, while consumption over 12 ounces in one gulp will elicit a ``nuclear'' belch.

Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's ...

The call of the Air Hog goes something like this: ``Whoooooa ho ho ho.''

The Air Hog itself - a toy airplane, not the proverbial flying pig - makes a pretty routine buzzing sound, but it tends to produce fits of goofy sounds from 6-year-olds like Austin Johnson of Canoga Park as they chase it across a park.

``It flies really high!'' Austin shouts.

In a recent flight test of the Sky Shark, the plastic airplane soared for up to a minute on its 20-inch wings. The cool thing about Air Hogs (suggested retail price of $29-$39) is they run entirely on, you guessed it, air. No gas. No rubber bands. No misfires. The engine starts every time.

Once the engine is revved up with a contraption that looks like a bicycle pump, the Air Hog is good for a flight of more than 100 yards, according to manufacturer Spinmaster Toys of Toronto.

Our test pilots, Austin and 7-year-old Tyler Bergman - with a considerable amount of help from Tyler's dad, Gary - reported their Air Hog managed a whopping 500-yard flight with a tailwind. Unfortunately, the flight ended with a crash landing on the roof of a house. But after a considerable amount of sweet talking to the cranky crank·y 1

homeowner and some Scotch tape to fix a cracked wing, the Air Hog was once again cleared for takeoff.

``It's pretty durable. It's flown into trees, into walls and branches,'' said Gary Bergman.

The makers of Air Hogs, which have won a flurry of toy industry awards, have introduced two new Air Hog models: a sleek V-Wing Avenger and one modeled after the World War II P-51 Mustang.

One warning, though. The Air Hog was a little tough for our test pilots - ages 6 and 7 - to throw. Spinmaster recommends the toy for kids 8 to 14 (when kids become too cool for toys) and adults 25 and up, when it's once again OK to play with toys. But don't take our word for it. Here's the elder Bergman's assessment: ``These things are cool.''
