Spoon-fed info about hot food

It's hard to tell when baby food you've heated - especially in the microwave - is too hot for tiny mouths. So Questech International has come up with a heat-sensing spoon that tells parents when food needs to cool down before baby's asked to open wide.

The bowl of Too Hot colored spoons lose their pigment and become white when used to stir food 105 F or hotter.

The spoons, which come two per package, are made with a co-injected plastic process that gives them a soft, flexible bowl for baby's tender gums and a solid handle. The spoons are dishwasher-safe and made of non-toxic materials.

Too Hot spoons aren't available in local stores yet, but you can order them by mail by calling Questech's customer service department at (800) 966-5367. With shipping and handling, a pair of the spoons will cost $7.95.

Something to Pika-chew on

They play with the card version, sleep with the stuffed version, watch the television and movie versions.

And now they can eat the fruity version of - what else? - Pokemon.

The anime's ever-expanding empire spread to grocery-store shelves this week with the introduction of Pokemon Punch Red Rolls, a supersweet rolled fruit snack Fruit snack is a processed snack food made from fruit, sugar, and/or other natural and artificial flavors and colors. Many fruit snacks are high in vitamin C. They tend to be more healthy than candy but less healthy than actual fruit.  overrun with images from the Pokemon clan.

For about $2.50 a box, you'll get six 3-foot rolls in plastic pouches bearing a picture and the vital stats of one of 10 characters. The rolls themselves come on a paper strip printed with Pokemon trivia and game tips.

And for a limited time, the makers also are dangling a Pokemon carrot before collectible-crazy kids: Each box will contain one of five Pokemon trading cards, possibly even a special gold-bordered Meowth card.

Good luck getting out of the grocery store with just one box.
