HOT TIPS : LOVELY JACKIE O: ONCE AND ALWAYS A DOLL.

First it was the sheath, then the pearls. Now it's the Jackie Doll. Miz Hot Tips is talking, of course, about the late and ever-so-stylish Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who has inspired numerous retro fashions and a major sale of her memorabilia.

The Jackie Doll is a 35-inch porcelain-looking vinyl collectible created by the Italian sculptor Bruno Rossellini and manufactured in Orange County by the Great American Doll company. Don't even think about finding it next to the $11.99 Barbies at the toy store, as this doll is priced at $495. A numbered copy of the original Rossellini doll, she comes dressed in an embroidered em·broi·der

For an additional $195, you can get your doll dressed in Jackie's famous pink coat and pill box hat. To order, call (800) 847-3655.

Flea-free at last: The rest of the country has cooled off and sent their pets' fleas packing, but here in almost-always-warm Los Angeles, it's a never-ending flea season. So, while you're swatting the little blood suckers as they jump from Rover to you, listen up.

According to Dr. Holly Scoren, a veterinarian veterinarian /vet·er·i·nar·i·an/ (vet?er-i-nar´e-an) a person trained and authorized to practice veterinary medicine and surgery; a doctor of veterinary medicine.

Advantage is a monthly topical treatment, priced at $30 to $40 for a package of four tubes. To apply, drop a few drops between your dog's (or cat's) shoulders and bingo, any flea that touches his skin is dead.

If you only use Program, you'll still need a good flea spray, she added.

Our kind of city: So, you live in La-la-land, the City of Angels and Hollywood hype, and you're feeling way cool. But beyond the Valley malls, reruns of ``Baywatch'' and an occasional shopping spree on Rodeo Drive, how well do you really know Los Angeles? Those were the days: No longer do dial-a-decade fashion fans have to fret about their retro image. Like, every detail (from the correct brooch brooch
