 will go on display today at the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery.

``The Trek Continues - Photography by Lee Bergthold and Christine Bowers'' will showcase photographs taken during the trek that Bergthold, Bowers and companion Al Caler made in 1997, hiking from Battle Mountain in north-central Nevada to the northern boundary of Death Valley.

The photos depict an area Bergthold calls California's last frontier - uninhabited desert rarely crossed by man.

A free public reception will take place from noon to 4 p.m. today at the Museum/Art Gallery, 44801 Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling . Bergthold will give a lecture on his trek and photos at 2 p.m.

Admission is free to the museum, which is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.

The gallery will open for a late program from 4 to 7 p.m. July 13.
