Stoneridge's Camara going to Binghamton Stoneridge Prep of Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  announced that senior Moussa Camara has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Binghamton.

The Binghamton, N.Y., university recently hired former Georgetown assistant Kevin Broadus Kevin Broadus (born January 30, 1964) is the current head men's basketball coach at Binghamton University. He was hired on March 26, 2007 to replace former head coach Al Walker.  to take over a program that went 13-16 this past season and finished in sixth place in the America East Conference The America East Conference is a college athletic conference whose members are located mainly in the northeastern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I. .

"I really enjoyed visiting the campus, meeting the players and the academic administration on my visit last week at Binghamton," Camara said. "Binghamton is a good fit for me. Coach Broadus' success at Georgetown was a key reason for my decision."

 named to U.S. team Nils Nielsen, a former Cal State Northridge All-American, has been added to the 2007 United States men's volleyball team's roster.

Nielsen, who played at CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  from 2002 to 2005, will be the first Matador to play for the national team since 1994.

Nielsen was called up to the team by head coach Hugh McCutheon just in time to begin preparations for the upcoming FIVB FIVB Federation of International Volleyball  World League championships.World League competition will begin for the United States on May 26, when it will take on France in Portland, Ore., before traveling to Green Bay on June 1 or 2 to face Japan, then Italy on June 15 or 16 in Chicago. -- Ivan Orozco

 honored Allison Brookes and Jillian Stapf earned All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference honors.

Brookes, a junior playing at the utility position, received All-MPSF honorable mention while Stapf, a goalkeeper was named to the All-Freshman team. The honors are the first in Matador water polo history.

"We're ecstatic for both Jill and Ally to be recognized with all-conference honors," Matadors coach Molly Barnes said in a news release. "There is so much talent in this conference and not enough spots on the all-conference teams to go around. For two of our players to make it is really an accomplishment for this team."

Brookes' 55 goals this season are the third-best single-season mark in school history and made her the school's all-time second-leading scorer (166). She also finished the season with 35 assists and 35 steals. -- Ivan Orozco
