Chaminade names Servin soccer coach

Chaminade of West Hills has a new boys' soccer coach and the school didn't have to look far to find one.

Jesse Servin replaces Jose Mejia, who coached the Eagles for the past three seasons. Servin coached the junior varsity team For the American rock band, see .

Mejia decided to leave Chaminade for a full-time teaching position in the Cal State Northridge physical education department. The Eagles finished 4-14-2 last season under Mejia.

Golden League players honored

The Palmdale boys' basketball team had four players named to the All-Golden League team, including senior Chris Hicks Chris Hicks is an Australian rugby league player. He currently plays for the Manly Sea Eagles on the wing, in the National Rugby League competition.

His Previous team was the Penrith Panthers. He is also a prominent goal kicker.

Iniguez gets another shot with Chivas USA

After a two-week tryout with the Chivas USA senior team, Aldo Iniguez didn't win the "Sueno MLS See multilevel security. : Chivas Wants You" national tryout.

But the 20-year-old goalkeeper from Guadalajara, Mexico living with his family in San Fernando will get another shot at earning a spot on the 28-player team roster.

Iniguez will continue to train with the team as it prepares for its season opener against expansion team Toronto FC.

He was one of five finalists from a pool of more than 2,000 hopefuls in the month-long tryout that began in February at the team's youth academy sports complex in Bell Gardens.
