Top boys' teams set for Classic Three teams from the Daily News boys' soccer top 10 get a chance this week to see how they compare with other California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  elite.

Top-ranked Canoga Park will join Palmdale and Loyola of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  at the prestigious West Coast High School Classic, which runs today through Saturday at Cal State Fullerton.

``It looks like the creme de creme of the Southern Section,'' Canoga Park coach Jake JAKE Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment  Gwin said. ``And we hope to represent the City well. This thing's going to be the best tournament we've ever been to. It's invitation-only and this is the first time we even got an application, so it's a big deal.''

Canoga Park opens against Central Section power Centennial of Bakersfield, then faces Servite of Anaheim.

With seedings based on teams' performances the past three seasons, last season's Div. II runner-up Loyola (6-3-2) is seeded second, and City Section finalist Canoga Park (3-0) is No. 4. Palmdale (8-2), a Div A DIV Associate of Divinity . I semifinalist sem·i·fi·nal

``We're looking forward to that,'' Palmdale sweeper Ozzie Lopez said. ``It's a big deal. That's what separates the good teams from the not as good. No one there is going to be easy to beat, that's why you have to be invited. It'll be a good test for us. Our talent is going to show there.''

The Falcons open against Esperanza of Anaheim. Loyola, which was a semifinalist at last year's tournament, won by Clovis West, opens against San Joaquin San Joaquin (săn wäkēn`), river, c.320 mi (510 km) long, rising in the Sierra Nevada, E Calif., and flowing W then N through the S Central Valley to form a large delta with the Sacramento River near Suisun Bay, an arm of San Francisco Bay.  Memorial of Fresno.

Watsonville is the No. 1 seed. The championship is set for 5 p.m. Saturday.
