HOSPITAL STAFFING SERVICES PROMOTES

 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Ronald A. Cass, chairman of Hospital Staffing Services, Inc. (NYSE: HSS) today announced the promotion of Warren A. Marmorstein to the position of chief financial officer. The post had previously been held on an interim basis by Brian M. Lechner, who remains the company's chief operating officer and president of its home healthcare group. Marmorstein will also continue to serve as the company's chief administrative officer.
 Marmorstein joined the company in June 1990 as vice president, Finance, and in February 1992 he was appointed senior vice president. He assumed the added post of chief administrative officer in December 1992. For nine years prior to joining Hospital Staffing Services, he was employed by Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as audit and accounting manager from 1986 through 1990. His experience includes servicing many publicly held companies and healthcare businesses.
 Commenting on the announcement, Cass said, "We are very pleased to recognize Warren's dedication and contribution to HSSI by naming him the company's senior ranking financial officer. This elevation of his status reflects our confidence in Warren's ability to play an even more important role in guiding and managing our company's growth."
