HOSPITAL IS FOUL LADY OF LOURDES; Patients slam 'dirtiest' in Ireland.

A HOSPITAL where 13 patients have been infected with the deadly C-diff bug has been voted the country's dirtiest in a nationwide poll.

Our Lady of Lourdes The apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes began when Bernadette Soubirous, a 14-year old peasant girl from Lourdes, when questioned by her mother, admitted that she had seen a "lady" in the cave of Massabielle, about a mile from the town, on 11 February, 1858, while she was gathering  in Drogheda, Co Louth, came bottom of the table in a survey by irishhealth.com.

It has been at the centre of a hygiene scandal since it was forced to turn away visitors and quarantine patients after an outbreak of the killer bug Killer Bug is the moniker used by Kazumoto Endo, off & on, for his solo Japanoise project. Abandoning it for a long while in favor of recording under his given name, Endo has recently adopted the name again for his project in 2005. .

Investigations are also under way after four people who had the infection died at the hospital.

One angry patient visitor said: "The reception area was cold and the floor was also very dirty, which is not appropriate for health and safety."

Another added: "The place, with the exception of the physiotherapy department, is filthy."

 has said "intense cleaning" is continuing at Our Lady of Lourdes in a bid to manage the infection. The others in the bottom six are Waterford Regional, the Midwestern Regional in Ennis, Limerick's Midwestern Regional, Kerry General and the Coombe A coombe is a short, deep, generally bowl-shaped valley or hollow, see cirque.

Coombe may refer to one of these places in England:
  • Coombe, Buckinghamshire
  • Coombe, Bude, Cornwall
  • Coombe, Camborne, Cornwall
  • Coombe, Liskeard, Cornwall
 Hospital in Dublin. Only one public hospital, St Luke's in Rathgar, makes it into the top 10. All the other top spots are taken by private hospitals.

Lack of proper hygiene is a major factor in causing C diff, which can cause inflammation of the bowel and even death.

The three cleanest hospitals in the country are Aut Even in Kilkenny, St Luke's in Rathgar and Waterford's Whitfield Clinic.

Of the big Dublin general hospitals, Beaumont has the poorest hygiene score and lies in 57th position.

Around 17,700 patients and their relatives have rated services on the Rate My Hospital website.

The ratings come under 23 different headings including staffing levels, quality of care, parking, hygiene and A&E waiting times.

One patient at St Columcille's in Loughlinstown, Dublin, gave a frightening review saying: "I really don't know how I didn't contract MRSA MRSA Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. See MARSA. . The hospital is filthy. The patient beside me had MRSA.

"Luckily I was alert enough to spot the doctor deal with this man and then come straight to my bed and went to shake my hand.
