The holiday-themed uniforms feature pumpkins and bats for Halloween, Easter bunnies, teddy-bear Pilgrims for Thanksgiving and Santa's elves for Christmas. The shift away from white scrubs to colors began in the 1980s. Nowadays, few nurses still wear all white, said Karla Bakersmith, a Life Uniform spokeswoman.
