HORSE RACING: PEDROZA OPENS WITH 3 WINS.

Martin Pedroza began his pursuit of an eighth consecutive Los Angeles County Fair The Los Angeles County Fair (also called simply the L.A. County Fair) is an annual event held in the Fairplex in Pomona, California, held every September. It is a carnival with rides, merchants, food vendors, cooking contests, and livestock. Pedroza, the Pomona track's all-time leading rider with 460 victories, sent Marcelo Polanco-trained Sailors Sunset ($3.20) past front-runner Hollywood Hood on the far turn in the 6 1/2-furlong race for 3-year-olds and pulled away. Sailors Sunset, a gray gelding gelding
