Fresh off his first NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla.  Craftsman Truck Series win of the year, Ron Hornaday Ron Hornaday, Jr. (born in Palmdale, California on June 20, 1958) is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver. He is the father of former NASCAR driver Ronnie Hornaday, and the son of Ron Hornaday, Sr., a two time Winston West Champion.  Jr. will pull double duty this weekend at Dover International Speedway Dover International Speedway (nickname: The Monster Mile) is a NASCAR race track located in Dover, Delaware, owned by, and serving as the corporate headquarters of, Dover Motorsports. It is unusual in several respects.  in Delaware.

Hornaday, driver of the No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado for Kevin Harvick Inc., won the Truck Series race Saturday at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway in Ohio.

It was the 28th career win for Hornaday, the most of any driver on the Truck Series.

It was also the first win of the season for Hornaday's crew chief Wally Rogers.

``Our sport is really about surrounding yourself with good people,'' said Hornaday, a former Saugus Speedway champ from Palmdale.

``I've got a great relationship with Wally and that really helps when we get to the track and work on the car, but more importantly Kevin and DeLana (Harvick) have done a great job at KHI khi

 surrounding all the teams with great people, and that really makes it a privilege for me to drive their equipment.''

Hornaday will be entered in the NASCAR Truck Series and Busch Series races this weekend at Dover. The Truck Series race is tonight. The Busch Series race is Saturday.

``Well I've done doubles before, so I've got that experience to go off of,'' said Hornaday, a two-time Truck Series champion. ``My boss Kevin pulls a double every weekend so I can always get some advice from him.''

Harvick, a driver from Bakersfield, races for Richard Childress Racing RCR Enterprises, LLC, doing business as Richard Childress Racing, is a NASCAR team fielding Chevrolets for Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton, and Scott Wimmer in the NEXTEL Cup Series as well as the #2 BB&T Chevy for Clint Bowyer, the #21 AutoZone Chevy for Harvick  on the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and Busch Series.

Hornaday will be entered in the No. 33 Chevrolet Monte Carlo The Chevrolet Monte Carlo was an American mid-size car. Originally introduced by Chevrolet for the 1970 model year (as competition with the Ford Thunderbird), it has gone through six generations as of 2007.  in the Busch Series race. His last start on the Busch Series came at Richmond International Raceway Richmond International Raceway (RIR) is a 3/4-mile (1.2 km), D-shaped, asphalt race track located just outside Richmond, Virginia in Henrico County. It hosts the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series.  on May 5, when he finished 14th.

With his win at Mansfield, Hornaday moved up to 13th in the Truck Series points standings. It was also his second straight top-five finish. He did not record a top-10 finish in his first five Truck Series races of the year.

``Hopefully a little momentum will carry over after a couple of rough weeks here lately,'' Rogers said. ``The guys always respond well to Ron, and Dover is a good track for him. We're all excited to get to the track this weekend.''

``With this being our second trip to Watkins Glen, I think the XM Satellite Radio team will be ready to challenge for a win,'' said Herta, a Hart High of Newhall graduate. ``We're obviously disappointed with our finish at the Indianapolis 500. However, we're still in seventh place in the championship and there are 10 races left for us to move closer to the top.''

This will be the second road course event of the year. Herta finished fourth in the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in Florida.

``We had a good car on our only other road course this year and I'm confident we'll be there again,'' Herta said.

Irwindale Speedway: The last time the NASCAR Super Late Models were at Irwindale Speedway, Todd Southwell had his best race of the season since opening night.

The Canyon High graduate finished fifth to record his second top-five of the year. He was third in the opening night race.

He enters Saturday night's race ninth in points, 55 behind Dan Moore of Sun Valley.

Rod Johnson of Canyon Country is fifth in points in the Super Late Model standings. Cory Fancy of Canyon Country is 11th and Kevin Wood of Saugus is 19th.

The NASCAR Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, West Coast Pro Trucks and Legend Cars are schedule to race tonight at Irwindale Speedway.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Races start at 7.
