HOPE SUING OVER TV SHOW.

Byline: City News Service

Bob Hope sued American Movie Classics and two British outfits Friday, claiming they used unauthorized footage in ``Bob Hope: The Road to the Top.''

The program was made by Iambic Productions Ltd. and National Video Corp. Ltd. and originally aired on British television. AMC aired it May 26 in the United States, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

The program contains excerpts from several shows Hope produced, along with still photographs and home movies. Hope says the material is copyrighted and that he did not give the companies permission to use it.

The companies could not be reached for immediate comment.

Hope seeks unspecified damages and wants a judge to stop the program from being aired again.
